Reinstate pharmacy supplies of oxygen, PSNC demands

Home oxygen supply through pharmacies should be reinstated in the South West of England, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee has demanded.

Following the announcement that Air Products is transferring its South West contract to BOC (PJ, 12 August, p184), the PSNC said: “We believe strongly that supply through community pharmacy in the South West should be reinstated. Patients did not want these new arrangements.  They are not working. … The government made the wrong decision in changing the arrangements, and we question the process by which it is now making alternative arrangements, without giving pharmacies an opportunity to resume the service that they provided so well for so long.”
