Pharmacist promotes healthy living at Royal Welsh Show
The Welsh Executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has been backing the Welsh Assembly Government's efforts to promote healthy living by conducting health checks on its stand at the Royal Welsh Show.
With the support of the executive, pharmacist Richard Evans of Tysul
Pharmacy, Llandysul, attended the show, held in Builth Wells from 24
to 27 July. Positioned on the Welsh Assembly Government’s stand,
he carried out lifestyle and blood pressure assessments and offered advice
on healthy living.
Mr Evans also carried out a similar role at both the National Eisteddfod
of Wales, held in Swansea from 5 to 12 August, and the United Counties
Show, a two-day agricultural event held near Carmarthenshire on 9 and
10 August. While at the United Counties Show, he was interviewed about
healthy living advice by Radio Ceredigion.
Mr Evans said that he had enjoyed the opportunity to highlight the impact
community pharmacy can have on Welsh patients’ capability to monitor
and look after their health.
