PJ editor to feature in BBC2's Coast series

Benjamin Horatio Paul |
A former editor of The Pharmaceutical Journal is to feature in the BBC2 documentary series Coast, illustrated by a portrait photograph supplied by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's museum.
Benjamin Horatio Paul, who edited The Journal at the end of the 19th
century, is to be mentioned in a programme featuring the coast of the
Hebridean islands. Programme researchers had discovered that Mr Paul
spent some time working in the Hebrides devising a way to convert peat
into paraffin oil.
Horatio Paul was born in 1827 and edited The Journal from 1870 until
his retirement at the age of 75 in 1902. He was renowned a gifted scientist
and a brilliant linguist.
The programme is to be broadcast on 11 October.
