New book on LC-MS applications in toxicology
A new book from the Pharmaceutical Press (the publishing arm of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society) covers the applications of liquid chromatography linked to mass spectrometry in the field of toxicology.
Early chapters of the new book discuss essential theoretical aspects
of LC-MS. Further chapters cover its application in areas such as systematic
toxicological analysis, drugs of abuse, therapeutic drug monitoring,
doping in sport, pesticides, peptides and further forensic applications.
‘Applications of LC-MS in
toxicology’ is edited by Aldo Polettini
of the department of legal medicine and public health at the University of Pavia,
Italy.
The Pharmaceutical Press says that LC-MS has become established as the method
of choice in the pharmaceutical industry and is increasingly being used in other
scientific disciplines, including clinical and forensic toxicology. It suggests: “This
authoritative text is essential reading for forensic and clinical toxicologists
and is also relevant to pharmaceutical analysts and analytical chemists.”
The 304-page hardback book costs £80. UK orders can be placed by telephone
