Community pharmacists in Scotland have been reminded that they should not register patients for the minor ailment service (MAS) before obtaining patient consent in an NHS circular published by the Scottish Executive last week.

Other issues include ensuring that patient details are correct, checking prescription forms have printed properly and contacting the ePharmacy helpdesk before using manual forms.
