Bradford professor receives Harrison Memorial Medal
Peter York, professor of physical pharmaceutics at the University of Bradford and a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, was awarded the Harrison Memorial Medal at the British
Pharmaceutical Conference this week.
Presenting the award, Hemant Patel, President of the Society, explained
that the award is made every two years to a pharmacist who has made outstanding
achievements in the science and practice of pharmacy.
Professor York was a founder of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation
at Bradford, which focuses on the use of predictive molecular pharmaceutics
and artificial intelligence tools in particle design, formulation and
processing for drug delivery systems.
In 1995 he co-founded the spin-off company Bradford Particle Design,
which commercialised the research into crystal engineering and particle
design based on
supercritical fluid technology. |
