Department appoints new director general of workforce

Clare Chapman, currently group personnel director at Tesco, has been appointed director general of workforce for the NHS and social care at the Department of Health. Ms Chapman has more than 20 years of personnel experience in the UK, US and Europe. She will take up the post from the beginning of 2007.

Andrew Foster resigned from the position in April.
