Online continuing professional development (CPD) training sessions were a big hit at the 2006 British
Pharmaceutical Conference, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society says.
The CPD training sessions were run from the Society’s stand in
the main exhibition. During the three days of the conference, 15 delegates
took advantage of the opportunity to complete a half-hour tuition session
under the guidance of a trained CPD facilitator.
Peter Wilson, head of post-registration at the Society, said: “We
were delighted to see pharmacists attending BPC taking the
opportunity to learn more about recording their CPD. It is important
that pharmacists feel confident and able to maintain a CPD record before
the implementation of the Section 60 order in spring 2007 makes CPD a
legal requirement. This training is just one example of the support that
the Society is offering to members.”
Further information about CPD is available from the Society’s website or
from the CPD helpdesk (tel 020 7572 2540).
