New PSNC chairman sought

Current PSNC chairman Barry Andrews |
Next year the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee will need a new chairman because the current chairman, Barry Andrews, comes to the end of his six-year term of office in the summer.
The PSNC chairman is appointed, not elected, and will be paid £30,000
for a commitment of 25–35 days’ work each year.
Dilip Joshi, vice-chairman of the PSNC and chairman of the appointments
panel, said: “Barry has chaired the committee with great skill
and leadership. His understanding of both the independent and multiple
sectors and the high esteem in which he is held made him the ideal choice
for the post six years ago. The success with which the committee has
functioned during a period that included major threats to the prosperity
of community pharmacy, the implementation of a new contract accepted
by independents and multiples alike. … We are looking for a chairman
who will, like Barry, bring substantial experience and leadership skills
to the post.”
The post is being advertised in The Pharmaceutical Journal (see pA22)
and the Health Service Journal. |
