A clinical guideline on the treatment of anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease has been published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and the National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions. The guideline includes advice on effective treatments and when treatment for anaemia should start. One recommendation is that age should not be the only determinant for treatment.
