Discount deductions on unlicensed medicines

Discount deduction exemptions can now be claimed on unlicensed medicines sourced on a named-patient basis, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee has announced.

Specials and unlicensed medicines, other than those containing a Controlled Drug, which have been supplied on a named-patient basis and for which no discount was obtained, can be endorsed “DNG” (discount not given) to avoid discount being removed. Specials or unlicensed medicines imported (rather than just supplied) on a named-patient basis can be endorsed “DNG” regardless of whether or not the product contains a CD.

Further information is available from the zero discount section of the PSNC website.
