NHS trust ratings published
Annual health check ratings for all NHS trusts in England were published by the Healthcare Commission this week.
Assessing NHS performance from April 2005 to March 2006, the commission
classed 40 per cent of trusts as “excellent” or “good” for
quality of services, and 9 per cent as “weak”. For their
use of resources, 15 per cent of trusts were classed as excellent or
good, and 37 per cent were classed as weak. Strategic health authorities
are calling for action plans to be in place within 30 days for the trusts
which were weak.
