Scottish Executive holds final meeting before handing over to new board

The Scottish Executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has held its last formal meeting before handing responsibility for the Society’s affairs in Scotland to the new Scottish Pharmacy Board. The executive remains in office until midnight on 20 January 2007, but no further meetings are planned.

At the meeting, held in Edinburgh on 25 October, executive chairman Rose Marie Parr paid tribute to the work of her colleagues on the current Scottish Executive and to those who had contributed to the work of the Scottish Executive over the past 155 years.

Dr Parr said: “This final meeting is not about looking to the past; it is about looking to the future. The Scottish Executive is delighted that the new Scottish Pharmacy Board will be the body driving forward pharmacy in Scotland. I urge members to value the opportunity to elect a pharmacy board and vote when the occasion arises in December.”
