Privy Council approves fees

A proposed scale of fees for members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2007 has been approved by the Privy Council.

The Society’s Council had sought a 6 per cent increase in the standard retention fee for practising pharmacists, from £267 to £283, and a 6.7 per cent increase in the normal fee for non-practising pharmacists, from £60 to £64. The Privy Council has approved these increases, along with increases of about 6 per cent in most other fees paid by members, preregistration trainees and applicants for membership.

For those seeking restoration to the Register, the fee will increase from £509 to £540 for those who were struck off for non-payment of fees or on the direction of the Statutory Committee and from £125 to £137 for those who voluntarily retired from the Register.
