Booklet for children with renal problems developed

A booklet for children with renal problems, developed by Angela Lamb, specialist paediatric renal pharmacist at Yorkhill Renal Unit, Glasgow, looks set to become available across Scotland. The booklet contains details of the patient's medication, along with a record of the patient's link nurse and consultant.

Derrick Pearce, manager of the Scottish Paediatric Renal Urology Network, told The Journal that an audit of the booklet conducted at Yorkhill had shown it to be a success. “We would like to get every hospital with a paediatric department in Scotland using the booklet,” he explained. “We have now secured funding from the charity Kidney Kids Scotland to extend provision of the booklet.”
