Fresh start for Healthy Start

Healthy Start, launched in Devon and Cornwall last year (PJ, 5 February 2005, p138), went UK-wide last weekend.

The programme replaces the Welfare Food Scheme and provides vouchers to pregnant women and low-income families with children to redeem for fruit, vegetables, milk and infant formula from participating stores and pharmacies.
