Scottish public health rules

Proposed changes to Scotland's public health legislation are described in a consultation document published by the Scottish Executive. Among the proposals are a new notification and reporting system, and stronger powers to quarantine people in significant disease outbreaks. Other changes relate to clarification of the roles played by organisations with responsibilities for public health.

The consultation closes on 12 January 2007.
