National board elections under way

Voting in the first elections to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's national pharmacy boards for England, Scotland and Wales is about to get under way, following the mailing of election documents to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are eligible to vote.

The voting papers were due to be posted on 8 December, accompanied by booklets containing candidates’ biographical details, declarations of relevant interests and election statements. Each voter will receive one of five booklets: three give details of the pharmacist candidates in England, Scotland and Wales and two give the particulars of the pharmacy technician candidates for the English and Welsh boards.

The candidates’ biographical details and declarations are also published in a 10-page section of The Journal this week (p708).

Completed voting papers must be received by Electoral Reform Services not later than noon on Friday 12 January 2007. The elected board members will take office as from 0.01am on Sunday 21 January 2007.
