Members elected unopposed to the English Pharmacy Board

Two pharmacists have been elected unopposed to fill sectoral places on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's English Pharmacy Board.

David Miller was the only candidate in the election of a member to represent hospital pharmacy and Steve Wicks was the sole candidate in the election of an industrial pharmacist.

Mr Miller, aged 47, is chief pharmacist/ business manager for Sunderland Hospitals, and superintendent pharmacist of Springwell Health Centre Pharmacy, City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of the Society’s Hospital Pharmacists Group Committee.

Dr Wicks, aged 51, is vice-president, pharmaceutical science and technology, worldwide pharmaceutical sciences, for Pfizer Global Research and Development, in Sandwich, Kent. He is chairman of the Society’s Industrial Pharmacists Group and a member of the Society’s Practice Committee.
