Smoke-free Wales goes ahead

Final regulations for the ban on smoking in all enclosed public places in Wales (PJ, 2 December 2006, p661) were passed this week, following a Welsh Assembly Government vote, and will come into force on 2 April 2007.

Health minister Brian Gibbons confirmed that smoking services in Wales would receive a further funding increase in the next financial year, over the £1.374m invested this year.
