Children’s services patchy

Progress on NHS hospital services for children is patchy, the Healthcare Commission argued this week.

In a report on improving services for children in 157 NHS and foundation hospital trusts the commission welcomed areas of good practice, such as care provided to children treated by inpatient services. However, it warned that the NHS was struggling to meet Government standards for children’s needs in a number of other areas.
