Third consultation starts on incontinence/stoma items

Consultation has started on changes to the terms of service relating to the supply of incontinence and stoma appliances.

The proposed specifications are intended to “ensure consistency in the accessibility and the level of service provision among contractors dispensing items listed in Part IX of the Drug Tariff”, the Department of Health says.

The consultation follows two launched last year (PJ, 2 December 2006, p657). The deadline for all three consultations is 2 April 2007.
