Post office closures could affect pharmacies, says NPA

Local businesses, including pharmacies, should be consulted about post office closures, the National Pharmacy Association has told the Department of Trade & Industry.

Raj Nutan, the NPA’s pharmacy business manager, commented: “Any disruption in the post office network may affect our members’ ability to safely deposit their takings locally.”

He added that local business infrastructure often revolves around the post office.

“The Government needs to recognise the importance to local businesses, such as community pharmacies, that the potential closure of up to 2,500 post offices could have.”
