NHS staff in Scotland will avoid staged increase in pay

NHS staff in Scotland are to be given the full 2.5 per cent pay increase on 1 April, rather than the staged increase announced in England (PJ, 10 March, p269).

Scottish health minister Andy Kerr said: “The finances of NHS Scotland are on a sound footing. While not stepping outside the overall UK negotiated pay system, on reflection I am therefore able to announce that we’ll be meeting the recommendations of the pay review bodies in full from 1 April.”
