Clare Mackie: Medway's first pro vice-chancellor

Clare Mackie, head of Medway School of Pharmacy, has been appointed pro vice-chancellor of the University of Kent at Medway. Professor Mackie will be the university's first pro vice-chancellor and will take up the post on 1 September 2007.

As pro vice-chancellor Professor Mackie will play a key role in the university’s strategic planning, including the development of its degree programmes and the expansion of its research facilities. She will also represent the Medway campus with external stakeholders and in the community.

The Medway School of Pharmacy opened in 2004 and now has 650 students and 54 members of staff.
