Certolizumab promising for RACertolizumab — the first pegylated, Fc-free anti-tumour necrosis factor antibody — has shown promising results for rheumatoid arthritis in phase III trials. UCB reports data from two trials of methotrexate plus certolizumab or placebo, which show it prevents progression of joint damage to a greater degree than placebo (P<0.001). Certolizumab retains potency in RA without possible cytotoxicity mediated by the Fc portion in conventional anti-TNFs, says UCB. |
