Insurance for prescribers

An insurance scheme directed at specialist pharmacists, including prescribers, will be launched next month by the Pharmacists' Defence Association.

The PDA “specialist pharmacist” insurance policy will cover, in addition to supplementary and independent prescribing, activities that involve invasive procedures such as collecting blood for analysis and administering injections.

The cover will also include activities performed by Qualified Persons as part of clinical trials in hospitals.
