Council seeks approval for first batch of Regulations
The Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has agreed to seek the approval of the Privy Council for a first batch of Regulations that will succeed the Society's Byelaws.
At the March Council
meeting, the Secretary and Registrar reported that
no comments had been received during the required 60-day period after
the draft
Regulations were gazetted (PJ, 21 October 2006, p498).
The Regulations include sections on the interpretation of various words,
on remuneration of auditors, on the Society’s seal, on The
Pharmaceutical Journal, on the museum and on the Council’s powers in relation
to codes, protocols and guidance. The Regulations will entirely supersede
the existing Byelaw sections concerning casual vacancies on the Council
(Section VIII), the Society’s Secretary (Section X), the auditors
(Section XI), the common seal (Section XIII), meetings for the reading
of papers (Section XVIII), The Pharmaceutical Journal (Section XXV) and
the museum (Section XXVI), which will be revoked.
