New pharmacy awards scheme launched

Pharmacists and other pharmacy staff are being invited to apply, and to nominate others, for a new set of pharmacy awards.

The Pharma Awards 2007 have 21 different categories and are intended to recognise the achievements of individuals and teams who are involved in innovative practice, who strive to raise practice standards and to develop practice models that others try to emulate.

The awards are jointly sponsored by a wide range of pharmacy, and other, organisations.

Speaking at the launch of the awards, Society Vice-President Gerald Alexander said: “The Pharma Awards will shine a light on the pioneers and trailblazers of pharmacy practice in the UK and set the pace for change in the way we deliver positive health outcomes.”

Three individuals or teams will be selected in each category to attend an awards dinner at the Pharmacy Show 2007 at the National Exhibition Centre on 14 October.
