Scottish Pharmacy Board takes roadshow to the membership

The Scottish Pharmacy Board of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has organised a series of five roadshows to explain the board's role, to set out the Government's plans for pharmacy and to seek members' views on the future of pharmacy in Scotland. The meetings will take place over the next three weeks in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

At each meeting the board’s chairman, Rose Marie Parr, will speak on “What can the board do for you?” and the vice-chairman, Frank Owens, will discuss the Government’s White Paper on “Trust, assurance and safety: the regulation of health professionals in the 21st century”. An opportunity to question speakers will be followed by an open forum session.

The roadshow timetable is as follows:

• Monday 21 May, Room PB21, Care Centre, School of Pharmacy, Robert Gordon University, Schoolhill, Aberdeen AB10 1FR

• Tuesday 22 May, Brahan Lecture Theatre, Highland Hospice, Inverness IV3 5SB

• Wednesday 23 May, Royal Pharmaceutical Society Scottish Office, 36 York Place, Edinburgh EH1 3HU

• Monday 11 June, Lecture Theatre, John Arbuthnott Building, University of Strathclyde, 27 Taylor Street, Glasgow G4 0NR

• Thursday 14 June, Dundee (venue to be confirmed)

Each roadshow meeting will begin at 7.30pm and end at about 9.30pm. A buffet will be available before each meeting from 7pm.

Pharmacists wishing to attend any of roadshows can register their interest online at scotinfo@rpsgb.org
