FIP supports resolution on rational use of medicines

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) has pledged support for a resolution on the rational use of medicines made at the 60th World Health Assembly in Geneva last month.

A resolution was adopted to encourage an integrated, health systems approach to promoting appropriate use of medicines, specifically by establishing national multidisciplinary bodies to monitor and promote the rational use of medicines.

FIP pushed for recognition of the added value of pharmacists in improving the rational use of medicines and to use their expertise at all levels of the health care system.
