Museum policy is updated
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's museum access and learning policy has been updated to reflect improved access interest since the original policy was written. The update was approved at the June
Council meeting on the recommendation of the Science Committee.
Briony Hudson, keeper of the museum collections, told the Council that
the policy had been adopted at a time when the museum was not open to
the public and access to the collections and displays was limited. But
the context had changed and the displays in the reception area now allowed
access to at least part of the museum for anyone while the building was
open.
In addition, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council was introducing
a new level of national standard called accreditation, and the policy’s
references to registration had been altered to include accreditation.
