Pharmacy health checks were on offer at the national youth eisteddfod in Carmarthen on 1 June 2007, courtesy of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Welsh Pharmacy Board.

As part of a collaboration with the Welsh Assembly Government, board member Richard Evans was on hand to offer advice on healthy living. He provided a full lifestyle check to more than 50 visitors.

Mr Evans said: “Once again the health checks proved to be hugely popular. Many of the visitors to the stand were aware they needed to improve their lifestyle and that pharmacists are ideally placed to provide advice and support on healthy living.”

Cath Savage, the Society’s Director for Wales, said: “Events such as these provide an ideal opportunity for us to raise the profile of the pharmacy profession in Wales with members of the public and ensure we are getting our message across. In the past the feedback has been so positive that participation in events across Wales is now an integral part of our ongoing communications strategy.”
