New book on preparing to apply for a preregistration training position

The preregistration interview: preparation for the application processA new book for pharmacy students preparing to apply for preregistration training positions is now available from the Pharmaceutical Press (the book publishing imprint of RPS Publishing, the publications arm of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society).

The preregistration interview: preparation for the application process’ is designed to take pharmacy students through the whole application and interview procedure for their preregistration year. It has been written by Nadia Bukhari, preregistration co-ordinator at the University of London School of Pharmacy.

The new book is the first title in new series of publications under the “Tomorrow’s Pharmacist” banner. It offers guidance on choosing where to apply for a preregistration training placement, on the application procedure, on filling out forms and on preparing for the interview.

The book includes a bank of real interview questions that the author has collated from feedback from students after completing their preregistration interviews. These include questions that have been asked by employers in the hospital, community and industry settings.

This book also provides guidance for pharmacy students who are applying for summer placements during the four-year degree course. Mrs Bukhari points out that experience gained on such placements will help the graduate to get a better preregistration place.

The 160-page paperback book costs £15.95. UK orders can be placed by telephone (01767 604 971), fax (01767 601 640) or e-mail (rps@turpin-distribution.com) or through the Pharmaceutical Press website.
