Remuneration reduction not as much as first announced

Monthly NHS remuneration for community pharmacies in England and Wales will not be reduced by as much as was announced earlier this month (PJ, 2 June, p635).

As a result of negotiations with the Department of Health on revised forecasts for elements that contribute to total remuneration — the global sum — the transitional monthly payment will be cut in July from £54.06 a month, for each 500 items dispensed, to £7.40 a month, for each 500 items dispensed, until the end of the financial year rather than being dropped entirely.
