Retention fees

Why no concession?

From Mr B. S. James, MRPharmS

A. Matalia makes a good point about our fees (PJ, 30 June, p774). Salary should make no difference

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society scrapped the part-time fee for pharmacists but now allows technicians to register at a lower cost. Why? There are many pharmacists who are unable, for various reasons, to work more than one or two days a week — or even less — but they do not get a concession.

Can the Society tell us why fellow members are being discriminated against?

B. S. James
Cardiff

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society declined our invitation to respond.
