Alliance Boots changes management structure
Alliance Boots has this week announced changes to its subsidiary companies' senior management structures following its transfer to private ownership.
Boots The Chemists and Alliance Pharmacy have been brought under the
same umbrella as Boots UK Retail, with Alex Gourlay, previously health
care director for Boots The Chemists, appointed managing director of
the new division. Steve Duncan, Alliance Pharmacy managing director,
has been appointed executive chairman of Boots UK Retail.
Tricia Kennerly takes on the role of health care director of the division,
but remains superintendent pharmacist for Alliance pharmacies. Steve
Churton, formerly assistant pharmacy superintendent, is promoted to pharmacy
superintendent of Boots The Chemists, taking over from Pradip Patel,
who is now managing director of Boots Opticians.
David Coles, formerly managing director of UniChem, has been appointed
to a newly created position of director of business development for Alliance
Healthcare — Alliance Boots’s Europe-wide wholesale and commercial
affairs division. Terry Scicluna, presently chief operating officer at
Alliance Pharmacy, succeeds Mr Coles as UniChem managing director.
