Open day for members and their families to be held at Lambeth on Sunday 23 September 2007
Members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and their families are invited to attend an open day at the Society's London headquarters on Sunday 23 September. The day is intended to provide members with an opportunity to learn more about the work that the Society does on behalf of the profession.
Those attending the event, hosted by the President will be able to meet
the new chief executive, Jeremy Holmes and the Society’s directors.
The day will include tours of parts of the headquarters building, including
the museum and the library. A buffet lunch will be provided, and an optional
boat trip on the River Thames will conclude the day.
The Society says it is seeking sponsorship for the event in order to
recover costs at a time when it is aiming to reduce its overheads.
Hemant Patel, President, said: “This is the members’ building
and the open day will give them the opportunity to have a look inside
their Society. They will also be able to meet with some Council and board
members and senior staff to discuss current issues with them face-to-face.
“As we move toward a new professional body for pharmacy I am committed
to making the Society a more member-focused organisation. I hope that
the membership support this initiative and embrace the opportunity to
find out more about how the Society works to support the profession.”
The Society will be open to members and their families at 1 Lambeth High
Street, London SE1, from 10.45am to 2.30pm.
Members requiring further information or an application form to register
their interest should contact the Society (tel 020 7572 2330, e-mail
b&ra@rpsgb.org). Admission on the day will be strictly by pre-booked
ticket only.
