John Thompson, non-executive director of Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust, has been appointed clerk to the independent inquiry into a professional body for pharmacy being led by Nigel Clarke (PJ, 18 August 2007, p189).

Mr Thompson is former head of the primary care division at the Department of Health.
