DoH chooses companies to offer support services to PCTs

Fourteen organisations have been chosen by the Department of Health to offer support services to primary care trusts.

Organisations in the new agreement, called the Framework for procuring External Support for Commissioners (FESC), will offer services such as data analysis and contract management but will not be involved in delivery of direct patient care.

The framework is expected to help PCTs obtain the best value for money by minimising the resource and cost implications associated with procuring these services.

The DoH emphasised that PCTs can still procure services independently.

The 14 organisations are:

  • Aetna Health Services (UK)
  • AXA PPP Healthcare Administration Services
  • BUPA Membership Commissioning
  • CHKS (Partners in Commissioning)
  • Dr Foster (Dr Foster Intelligence)
  • Health Dialog Services Corporation
  • Humana Europe
  • KPMG LLP
  • McKesson Information Solutions UK
  • McKinsey & Company
  • Navigant Consulting
  • Tribal Consulting
  • UnitedHealth Europe
  • WG Consulting Healthcare (WG Consulting)
