Controlled Drugs

Debating over changes

From Mr H. A. O. Hughes, MRPharmS

Chief constable of north Wales, Richard Brunstrum, has hit the national headlines [with his call for drugs to be legalised and for the class A, B and C system to be scrapped]. Last year he put his views to a joint Clwyd and Gwynedd branch welcome meeting for preregistration trainees and their tutors, and local pharmacists debated their future role if these changes are to be made.

I think the debate needs widening across our profession.

Alan Hughes
Ruthin, Clwyd
