GP sexual health service poor

Provision of sexual health services in general practice is erratic, unco-ordinated and poorly planned, according to the All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Choice and Sexual Health Group.

The group surveyed 122 primary care trusts and found that only 5 per cent of general practices provide testing and diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections and at least 70 per cent of women are not being offered the full range of contraceptive methods.
