Legal and Ethical Advisory Service fact sheet changes

Following the publication of the revised Code of Ethics and the supporting Professional Standards and Guidance Documents, three of the Legal and Ethical Advisory Service fact sheets have been superseded and the number of the remaining Fact Sheets has subsequently changed.

Fact sheet 6, “Advertising”, has been superseded by the “Professional standards and guidance for advertising medicines and professional services” document.

Fact sheet 7, “Prescription collection, home delivery and repeat medication services”, has been superseded by the “Professional standards and guidance for the sale and supply of medicines” document.

Fact sheet 8, “Pharmacy and the internet”, has been superseded by the “Professional standards and guidance for internet pharmacy services” document.

As a result, the numbering on the remaining fact sheets has been revised as follows:

1. Controlled Drugs and community pharmacy
2. Controlled Drugs and hospital pharmacy (currently being revised)
3. The Medicines for Human Use (Marketing Authorisations Etc) Regulations 1994 and the effect thereof
4. The export of medicines
5. The use of unlicensed medicines in pharmacy
6. Labelling of monitored dosage systems and compliance aids
7. Patient group directions: a resource pack for pharmacists
8. Dealing with dispensing errors
9. Confidentiality, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Disclosure of Information (currently being revised)
