The anti-obesity agent rimonabant increases the risk of psychiatric adverse events, a meta-analysis of all published randomised controlled trials of the medicine suggests (Lancet 2007;370:1706).

Data from 4,105 participants in four trials comparing rimonabant 20mg daily with placebo were examined.
