PHL launches series of public health posters

PharmacyHealthLink poster

Posters cover a range of health topics

New public health posters were launched by PharmacyHealthLink last week to mark the charity’s 21st anniversary. The posters complement resources published earlier this year (PJ, 3 March, p237).

The posters highlight advice available from pharmacies on smoking cessation, weight management, moderating alcohol consumption and other aspects of healthy living.

They were developed in association with the Department of Health and are available in A3 and A4 size. They can be downloaded

The charity also celebrated its anniversary by hosting a public health debate and reception

Before the debate, Miriam Armstrong, chief executive of PharmacyHealthLink, said that the charity had done some preliminary work on the idea of a designated health-promoting pharmacy environment, which she believes will clarify public perception, make better use of staff skills and realise pharmacy’s full potential in terms of providing public health services.

PharmacyHealthLink also announced that its chairman, James McEwen, is stepping down and will be replaced by Ray Jobling, a Fellow of St John’s College, University of Cambridge, and a lay member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Council.
