Co-op pharmacy chain grows

About half the pharmacies operated by PCT Healthcare Group under the Peak Pharmacy and Tims & Parker names have been sold to the Co-operative Group, and will be incorporated into its Co-operative Pharmacy chain.

In a separate deal, Co-operative Pharmacy has added six new pharmacies to its chain in Scotland. The deals bring the total number of pharmacies in the Co-operative Pharmacy chain to above 780.

Commenting on the PCT Healthcare Group purchase, Peter Marks, business chief executive of the Co-operative Trading Group, said: “This is a significant deal and one that underlines our health care business’s position as one of the fastest growing pharmacy chains in the UK.”
