Two pharmacists recognised in New Year honours list

Two pharmacists received honours in this year’s New Year honours list.

Sheila Kelly, executive director of the Proprietary Association of Great Britain, is made an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the pharmaceutical industry. Mrs Kelly has been executive director of the PAGB since 1990.

Essex community pharmacist Barry Shooter was named as a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to pharmacy.

Mr Shooter built up a small chain of five pharmacies, four of which he recently sold to Lloydspharmacy.
