Onlooker

Happy retirement!

From Professor G. F. Baxter, MRPharmS

So, Onlooker has laid down his quill at last (PJ, 22/29 December 2007). Will he, I wonder, now do us the honour of stepping from behind the heavy drapes of anonymity to receive the appreciation of his audience in time-honoured fashion, namely rapturous applause and over-ripened fruit, partibus aequalibus.

I feel sure that Onlooker’s more than 30 years’ meandering hither and thither across rural English pastures, his folksy wisdom and quaint devotion to the BPC 1949 will have won him admiration and appalled silence in equal measure.

Happy retirement, Onlooker!

G. F. Baxter
Cardiff
