Rosiglitazone warning

A warning that rosiglitazone is not recommended for patients with ischaemic heart disease or peripheral arterial disease should be included in the drug’s product information, the European Medicines Agency has announced.

Also recommended is a new contraindication stating that rosiglitazone must not be used in patients with an acute coronary syndrome, such as angina or some types of myocardial infarction.
