NPA helpline
The National Pharmacy Association’s business support helpline is
now available at local call rates on 0844 561 8103. The NPA also has
new direct-dial numbers for the following departments: information (01727
891800), business sales (01727 800401) and education and training (01727
800402).
Supply of pet medicines
Late in 2006 some formulations of the pet flea product Frontline were
classified NFA-VPS and became available for sale over the counter by
pharmacists and Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority Suitably
Qualified Persons. It is likely that other similar products will also
become OTC in the future.
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s
Veterinary Pharmacists Group would like to remind pharmacists that
it is not good practice to put these products on self-selection shelves
and that their staff should be able to demonstrate competence in that
product area and give the correct level of advice. |
